Jack Lee Bionde story is used to explain the difference in the apparent age of Spec and his actual age. Jack had spent 30 years of his life searching for a lost cargo ship carrying a massive amount of treasure, and 14 days after finding the treasure, Jack died. The cause of death was old age, which was shocking to those that knew him; they had thought him middle-aged based upon appearance, while he was in reality 88 years old. He died of old age, since he was actually an old man. His determination and drive loaned him his body, but he still had to pay the loan back with interest.
It is thought that in reaching his goal in life, he lost the only thing preserving his will to live, and is compared to Spec who had suffered a massive defeat and suddenly began to wither and show his age after being hospitalized.
